Sakeena Itoo holds public outreach camp in Kulgam, lays foundation stone for road project

Kulgam: Health, Medical Education, Social Welfare and Education Minister Sakeena Itoo on Saturday visited Check-e-Samad area of Kulgam district, where she interacted with residents during a public outreach programme and laid the foundation stone for a road project.

During the outreach camp, residents of Check-e-Samad and adjoining villages raised various civic and developmental issues and sought improvements in local infrastructure and public services.

The minister heard the grievances and demands projected by the residents and said genuine issues would be addressed in a phased manner.

Addressing the gathering, Itoo said the government was committed to ensuring equitable development and improving public services across Jammu and Kashmir. She also stressed the importance of direct interaction with citizens for identifying local concerns and monitoring developmental needs.

She urged government departments to work in coordination and ensure timely completion of development works.

During the visit, the minister laid the foundation stone for a 1.2-kilometre road project at Check-e-Samad, which is to be constructed at an estimated cost of ₹86.27 lakh.

Itoo also announced several development projects for Check-e-Samad and nearby villages, though details of the proposed works were not immediately available.

She was accompanied by Superintending Engineer Fayaz Ahmad Kar, Chief Education Officer Kulgam Fayaz Ahmad Mir, District Social Welfare Officer Rameez Ahmad Ganai and other officials.
