SRINAGAR: Minister for Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs, Information Technology, Youth Services and Sports, Satish Sharma on Thursdsay met several legislators and public delegations at the Civil Secretariat here and reviewed issues related to development, public services and welfare across Jammu and Kashmir.
The Minister met legislators representing Budhal, Sonawari, Rajouri, Poonch and Uri constituencies and also interacted with various public delegations.
During the meetings, the legislators and delegations highlighted a range of issues concerning their respective areas, including infrastructure development, road connectivity, public transport, sports facilities, employment, civic amenities and delivery of public services.
The representatives sought timely intervention and coordinated action by the concerned departments to address issues affecting people at the grassroots level.
Sharma assured the delegations and legislators that genuine concerns would be taken up with the relevant departments for appropriate action.
He directed officers to examine the issues raised and take necessary action in accordance with rules, available resources and government policy. The Minister said sustained engagement with elected representatives and public stakeholders was essential for understanding ground realities and ensuring responsive governance.
He also stressed the need for close inter-departmental coordination and timely follow-up on issues raised during such interactions to ensure that developmental initiatives and welfare measures translate into tangible benefits for the people.
