Baramulla: The Department of Youth Services and Sports (DYSS), Baramulla, on Monday commenced Inter-Zonal District-Level Selection Trials-cum-Competitions in various disciplines across the district, drawing participation from hundreds of students.
The Under-14 boys’ table tennis selection trials were held at the Indoor Stadium, Khawaja Bagh, while Under-14 boys’ chess trials took place at Budding Bloom School, Khawaja Bagh.
The Under-14 boys’ badminton trials were conducted at Bipin Rawat Indoor Stadium, Baramulla. Competitions in taekwondo for Under-14 and Under-17 boys were organised at the Indoor Stadium, Khawaja Bagh.
District Youth Services and Sports Officer (DYSSO) Baramulla Mushtaq Ahmad Pampori said the competitions provide young athletes with an opportunity to showcase their talent and gain competitive exposure at the district level.
He said the department remains committed to promoting sports at the grassroots level and identifying promising athletes for higher-level competitions.
