Tiranga rallies held across Anantnag tourist destinations under Har Ghar Tiranga campaign

Service providers, tourists and officials participate in events at Pahalgam, Kokernag, Verinag and other locations

ANANTNAG: Tiranga rallies were organised across several tourist destinations in Anantnag district on Sunday as part of the ongoing Har Ghar Tiranga campaign, with participation from local residents, service providers, tourists and government officials.

The rallies were held at Pahalgam, Kokernag, Achabal, Verinag, Daksum and other tourist locations. The events were organised by the Development Authorities of Pahalgam, Kokernag and Verinag in coordination with the respective sub-divisional administrations, Tourism Department, municipal bodies and other departments.

According to officials, the rallies witnessed participation from youth groups, volunteers, tourism stakeholders, business operators and members of civil society, along with visitors to the tourist destinations.

At Pahalgam, boatmen and tourists carried the national flag along the Lidder River, while pony owners participated in the rally on horseback. Chief Executive Officer, Pahalgam Development Authority, Hilal Nasrullah Jerri, Sub-Divisional Magistrate Pahalgam Amit Gupta and other officials were present during the programme.

Similar rallies were held at Achabal, Kokernag, Verinag and Daksum, where participants carried the Tricolour through the tourist sites. All-Terrain Vehicles (ATVs) were also used in some rallies, officials said.

The events formed part of the district-wide Har Ghar Tiranga campaign aimed at encouraging public participation in Independence Day celebrations and promoting national unity.
