POONCH: Minister for Jal Shakti, Forest, Ecology and Environment and Tribal Affairs Javed Ahmed Rana on Friday met several delegations and public representatives in Surankote and Poonch and heard issues related to development and public infrastructure.
The delegations highlighted concerns regarding the availability of essential public services, infrastructure development and the pace of ongoing works in their respective areas.
They also sought the government’s intervention for restoration of roads, water supply schemes and other infrastructure damaged in recent flash floods and landslides.
Giving a patient hearing to the delegations, Rana assured them that their concerns would be taken up with the concerned departments for necessary action. He directed officials to ensure close coordination and timely follow-up so that public issues are addressed without delay.
The Minister said resolving people’s grievances remains a priority of the government and added that efforts are underway to restore essential services and infrastructure affected by recent natural calamities.
He assured the delegations that their concerns would be pursued with the relevant agencies for prompt and effective resolution.
