According to the BJP, the delegation raised concerns over what it described as growing public dissatisfaction with the National Conference government. The leaders alleged that issues relating to employment, civic amenities, infrastructure, public welfare and administrative efficiency were not receiving adequate attention.

The delegation also alleged that the government was focused on political blame games and diversionary issues and urged the Centre to ensure that the development momentum in J&K was not affected.

On the security situation, the BJP leaders said the policies of the Narendra Modi government and measures taken under Shah had weakened the “ecosystem of terrorism” in Jammu and Kashmir. They said the improved security environment had created opportunities for investment, tourism, infrastructure development and economic activity.

The delegation also referred to the conduct of the Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra, crediting security forces, the civil administration and other stakeholders for its safe completion.

According to the BJP, Shah assured the delegation that the Centre remained committed to the interests of the people of Jammu and Kashmir and would continue to focus on security, development, welfare and governance.

He also assured the leaders that the concerns raised by them would receive due attention and appropriate action, the party said.
