The nationwide initiative, organised by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports under the Fit India movement, saw participants across more than 10,000 locations take a pledge to stay away from substance abuse under the slogan, “Say Yes to Fitness, Say No to Drugs.”

Leading the programme from Hanol in Gujarat, Mandaviya described Sundays on Cycle as a mass movement that has grown into a major component of the Fit India campaign. According to the ministry, more than 30 lakh people have participated in the initiative since its launch in December 2024.

In Delhi, the main event was held at the Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium, where over 1,000 participants took the ‘Nasha Mukt Bharat’ pledge. The programme included yoga, Zumba sessions and a five-kilometre cycling ride around India Gate and Kartavya Path.

A game and fitness zone featuring activities such as badminton, tug of war, obstacle races, chess, carrom and ludo was also organised at the venue.

Actor Siddharth Nigam, international squash player Gurveer Singh, Fit India Ambassador Narendra Kumar and fitness instructor Meenal Pathak participated in the event and encouraged youth to adopt healthy lifestyles and stay away from drugs and other addictions.

The campaign is organised by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports in collaboration with the Cycling Federation of India, Raahgiri Foundation and MY Bharat. Events were held simultaneously across states and Union Territories at Sports Authority of India centres, Khelo India facilities, educational institutions and Fit India clubs.
