SRINAGAR: Minister for Agriculture Production, Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, Cooperatives and Election Department, Javid Ahmad Dar, on Tuesday met individuals and delegations at the Civil Secretariat here and reviewed a range of public grievances and development-related issues.
The representations included service matters, improvement of lanes and drainage, development of fruit mandis, housing for eligible beneficiaries under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Gramin (PMAY-G), crop insurance, market support for apple growers and strengthening of rural infrastructure.
Delegations also sought measures to safeguard the interests of fruit growers, improve marketing facilities and enhance basic infrastructure and civic amenities in rural areas.
The Minister assured the delegations that all genuine issues and demands would be examined on priority and taken up with the concerned departments for appropriate action.
Dar said the government is committed to the prompt redressal of public grievances and responsive governance, with particular emphasis on improving service delivery in rural and farming areas.
He also stressed the need for better coordination among departments to ensure that public issues are resolved efficiently and within a reasonable timeframe.
