Local youth participated enthusiastically in the match, which organisers said was aimed at promoting teamwork, discipline and community engagement while highlighting the ill effects of drug abuse.

Speaking on the occasion, Jawhar Mir, Outreach Worker, DDAC Bandipora, said sports play an important role in personality development, mental well-being and preventing substance abuse. He said the Community Peer Led Intervention programme encourages young people to become ambassadors of the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan and inspire their peers to stay away from drugs.

The event also provided an opportunity for interaction between the participants and the DDAC team, with discussions focusing on the role of sports, fitness and community participation in preventing addiction.

According to the organisers, the programme concluded with a pledge to continue organising awareness and youth engagement activities under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan in an effort to promote a drug-free society.
