Sanctorum Public School qualifies for Subroto Cup U-17 national finals

SOPORE: Sanctorum Public School, Sopore, has qualified for the U-17 National Finals of the 65th Subroto Mukherjee Cup 2026 and will represent Jammu and Kashmir at the country’s premier inter-school football tournament beginning September 15 in New Delhi.

The school secured its place in the national finals after an unbeaten campaign through the zonal, district and divisional stages.

Sanctorum won the zonal title by defeating Budding Bloom School 6-0, HS Kreeri 3-0 and HSS Wagoora in a penalty shootout after a 4-2 finish.

In the district championship, the team beat NIPS Shopian 8-0, drew 0-0 with Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS) Budgam, defeated High School Bugam, Ganderbal, 2-1 and Anantnag 3-0 before overcoming KVS Budgam 3-0 in the final to lift the district title.

The school sealed qualification for the national finals with a 6-0 aggregate victory over Army Public School (APS) Samba in the divisional finals, winning the first leg 2-0 and the second leg 4-0.

Across the tournament, Sanctorum played 10 matches, winning nine and drawing one. The team scored 35 goals, conceded three and kept seven clean sheets.

The 65th Subroto Mukherjee Cup U-17 National Finals will be held in New Delhi from September 15, featuring champion school teams from across the country along with participating international teams.
