Srinagar: The Jammu and Kashmir government’s JK SEHAT App has registered 15.6 lakh users and is emerging as a unified digital platform for delivering a range of healthcare services across the Union Territory, according to the Health and Medical Education Department.
The department said the application integrates multiple healthcare services on a single platform and supports the objectives of the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM) by providing citizens with access to digital health services.
According to the department, users can book appointments at government hospitals, generate digital outpatient department (OPD) tokens through the Scan & Share facility, access tele-consultation and home healthcare services, order medicines through registered pharmacies and view digital health records.
The application also provides information on blood banks, ambulance services (102 and 108), health helplines, drug stores, immunisation centres, de-addiction centres and health insurance, besides offering an artificial intelligence-based chatbot. It also includes study resources and course-related information for medical students.
The department said more than 12.37 lakh digital OPD tokens have been generated through the ABDM-enabled Scan & Share service. It added that 3,077 healthcare professionals are registered on the platform to provide home healthcare and tele-consultation services, through which 4,805 services have been delivered so far.
More than 4,000 medicine orders placed through the application have also been successfully delivered, the department said.
It said the government is taking steps to increase the adoption and utilisation of the platform through coordinated efforts involving the National Health Mission (NHM), Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission, Directorates of Health Services, the State Controller Drugs and other stakeholders.
According to the department, the application is designed to improve access to healthcare services, particularly in remote areas, while strengthening digital connectivity between healthcare providers and citizens.
