Srinagar: Several political leaders, representatives of trade bodies, civil society organisations and senior officials called on Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha in Srinagar on Saturday and discussed issues relating to governance, infrastructure, tourism, employee welfare and youth development.
Shri Sanjay Saraf, Chief Spokesperson of the Rashtriya Lok Janshakti Party, met the Lieutenant Governor during the day.
A Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) delegation led by Ishfaq Ahmad Khanday also called on the Lieutenant Governor.
A delegation of the Janata Dal (United), led by its Jammu and Kashmir President G.M. Shaheen, met the Lieutenant Governor and raised issues related to promotion of the tourism sector, upgradation of roads and other matters of public importance.
A delegation of the Global India Prestige Forum (GIPF) discussed issues concerning the promotion of trade, commerce and tourism in Jammu and Kashmir. Javid Ahmed Tenga, President of the Kashmir Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI), was also present during the meeting.
Separately, Sanjay Koul, President of the All Minority Employees Association Kashmir (AMEAK), met the Lieutenant Governor and highlighted various welfare issues concerning minority community employees.
Representatives of the Rise Up Youth Foundation, led by its Chairman Anush Shahnaz Khan, also called on the Lieutenant Governor and briefed him about their proposed anti-drug awareness campaign, “Irada-e-Rahat”, aimed at promoting drug prevention, youth empowerment, public awareness and community well-being across Jammu and Kashmir.
Later, Principal Accountant General (Audit), Jammu and Kashmir, Jay Prakash Narayan Singh, called on the Lieutenant Governor and submitted the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) of India Report for the period ended March 2023 (Report No. 03 of 2026), comprising the Composite Audit Report on Civil and Public Sector Enterprises (PSEs). According to an official statement, the report has been submitted to the Lieutenant Governor for tabling in the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly.
