Javid Dar hears public grievances, assures action on development issues

Srinagar: Minister for Agriculture Production, Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, Cooperatives and Election Department, Javid Ahmad Dar, on Tuesday met several delegations and individuals from different parts of Jammu and Kashmir and heard their grievances and development-related demands.

According to an official statement, the delegations raised issues related to road upgradation and blacktopping, civic amenities, basic infrastructure, service matters, pension cases, employment and other public welfare concerns.

The Minister directed the concerned officers to take immediate cognisance of genuine grievances and ensure their timely disposal in accordance with established rules and procedures.

A delegation of Junior Rural Stewards (JRS) also met the Minister and highlighted issues related to their service conditions. The delegation sought an enhancement of the monthly stipend, citing their increasing responsibilities in implementing Rural Development programmes across the Union Territory.

Dar said the role of Junior Rural Stewards in strengthening rural governance and implementing flagship development programmes was important and assured the delegation that its demand would be examined for appropriate action, the statement said.
