Kargil: Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh Vinai Kumar Saxena on Sunday inaugurated the Agriculture Department’s Farmers’ Hostel at Lower Kurbathang in Kargil and reviewed agricultural infrastructure and facilities in the district.
Following the inauguration, the Lieutenant Governor interacted with farmers, heard their grievances and suggestions, and assured them of the administration’s support for promoting sustainable agriculture and improving farmers’ livelihoods.
Saxena also visited the Agriculture Department’s hi-tech greenhouses, where he reviewed crop production, cultivation practices and the performance of the greenhouse units. He appreciated the department and progressive farmers for adopting modern farming techniques and encouraged wider use of advanced technologies to enhance productivity and income.
Chairman and Chief Executive Councillor of the Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council (LAHDC), Kargil, Dr Mohd Jaffer Akhoon, Member of Parliament from Ladakh Mohmad Haneefa Jan, Executive Councillors of LAHDC Kargil and senior officers of the district administration and Agriculture Department accompanied the Lieutenant Governor during the visit.
