Poonch: Divisional Commissioner Jammu Ramesh Kumar and Inspector General of Police (IGP) Jammu Bhim Sen Tuti on Tuesday visited flash flood-affected areas of Poonch district to review relief and restoration operations and assess the ground situation.
The officers visited Sangla village in Surankote tehsil, where they met families who lost their relatives in the recent flash floods and expressed condolences.
They also reviewed the progress of restoration works in the affected areas. The Divisional Commissioner directed the officials concerned to expedite restoration of damaged infrastructure and essential services.
He instructed the district administration and line departments to ensure timely assistance and all necessary support to the affected families, while directing departments to take appropriate measures for the safety and well-being of the affected population.
Deputy Commissioner Poonch Ashok Kumar Sharma, DIG Rajouri-Poonch Sandeep Wazir, SSP Poonch Shafket Hussain Bhat, Additional Deputy Commissioner Tahir Mustafa Malik, ACR Muhammad Sayeed, SDM Surankote Farooq Khan and senior officers of the administration, police and line departments accompanied the Divisional Commissioner and the IGP during the visit.
