Srinagar: The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Thursday reviewed its organisational affairs in Shopian and Pulwama districts, with party leaders stressing the need to strengthen the organisation and expand its grassroots presence in south Kashmir.
The meetings, held at the party headquarters in Srinagar, were chaired by PDP General Secretary (Organisation) Ghulam Nabi Lone Hanjura and attended by senior party leaders and district office-bearers.
According to a PDP statement, the Shopian meeting was attended by General Secretary Mohammad Khursheed Aalam, Additional General Secretary Mohammad Yousuf Bhat, State Secretary Nazir Ahmad Dar, District President Aijaz Ahmad Mir, Constituency In-charge Shopian Raja Waheed and other party functionaries.
The meeting reviewed the party’s organisational structure and discussed measures to strengthen grassroots outreach and public engagement in the district.
A similar meeting was held for the Pulwama unit and was attended by Mohammad Khursheed Aalam, Mohammad Yousuf Bhat, Nazir Ahmad Dar, MLA Tral Rafiq Ahmad Naik, former minister Zahoor Ahmad Mir, District President Ghulam Mohammad Shahoora, District Youth President Muzamil Manzoor and other leaders.
The participants reviewed the party’s organisational framework and discussed ways to improve coordination, strengthen grassroots networks and intensify public outreach in Pulwama.
The party leadership reiterated the importance of a strong organisational structure and sustained engagement with the public to consolidate the PDP’s presence at the grassroots level across south Kashmir, the statement said.
