DC Bandipora reviews sports stadium projects, sets deadlines for completion

Bandipora: Deputy Commissioner Bandipora Indu Kanwal Chib on Thursday reviewed the progress of ongoing development works at S.K. Sports Stadium and directed the executing agencies to complete the projects within stipulated timelines.

According to an official statement, the Deputy Commissioner inspected the stadium and reviewed the physical progress of various works with engineers, contractors and representatives of sports associations.

Reviewing the development of the playfield, Chib directed the concerned agency to complete the filling and levelling work within one month to make the ground ready for sporting activities.

She also inspected the indoor sports hall and asked engineers to complete the remaining work within two weeks so that the facility could be made operational at the earliest.

The Deputy Commissioner further reviewed the construction of the pavilion and directed the executing agency to expedite the work.

She instructed the Executive Engineer, Roads and Buildings (R&B), Bandipora, to coordinate with the Engineering Wing of the J&K Sports Council and representatives of sports associations to resolve project-related issues.

During the visit, Chib urged contractors to mobilise adequate resources and complete all ongoing works within the prescribed timelines while maintaining quality standards. She also called upon the concerned departments to work in close coordination to ensure that the sports infrastructure is made available to athletes without delay, the statement said.
