The Minister reviewed the status of health infrastructure, school education, social welfare schemes and ongoing developmental works, directing departments to ensure timely completion of approved projects and prompt redressal of public grievances.

Reviewing the Health and Medical Education sector, Sakeena Itoo called for strengthening healthcare facilities by operationalising identified Primary Health Centres as 24×7 facilities, completing pending infrastructure works, improving ambulance services, mapping medical blocks and ensuring accountability in project execution. She also directed officials to enhance diagnostic facilities, including CT scan services at the Trauma Centre, and prioritise the reconstruction of unsafe health buildings.

The Minister instructed officials to initiate action against any officer responsible for unauthorised changes in Detailed Project Reports (DPRs). She also stressed transparency in the tendering process, discouraged below-estimate tendering and directed that contractors adhere to quality standards and project timelines.

Reviewing the School Education sector, she directed officials to accelerate the upgradation of schools, bridge infrastructure gaps and ensure equitable distribution of resources across educational institutions.

In the Social Welfare sector, the Minister emphasised expanding outreach under Central and UT-sponsored schemes and directed officials to organise intensive awareness camps to ensure eligible beneficiaries are informed about and can access welfare programmes. She also called for intensified ICDS outreach in uncovered and left-out areas.

The meeting also reviewed constituency-specific issues, including completion of Government Degree Colleges, school and hospital buildings, regulation of unauthorised constructions and identification of unsafe structures for appropriate action.

Assuring the legislators that all genuine issues raised would be addressed on priority, Sakeena Itoo directed departments to maintain close coordination with elected representatives to ensure timely resolution of public concerns and effective implementation of developmental initiatives.

She reiterated that strengthening public services and accelerating development across all constituencies remain among the government’s top priorities.
