During the visit, they held detailed interactions with farmers and orchardists, who highlighted the losses suffered due to the adverse weather conditions and sought government support.

Expressing solidarity with the affected families, the MLA and Deputy Commissioner assured them that their genuine concerns would be taken up with the government for appropriate relief and assistance.

Deputy Commissioner Shishir Gupta informed residents that dedicated teams of the Horticulture Department had already been deployed across the affected areas to conduct a comprehensive assessment of crop and orchard losses.

He said that assistance to affected growers would be provided in accordance with existing government provisions after the completion of the damage assessment process and submission of reports.

Additional Collector Revenue (ACR) Shopian and officers from the Horticulture and Agriculture Departments accompanied the MLA and Deputy Commissioner during the visit.
