ANANTNAG: Custodian General Jammu and Kashmir Tassaduq Hussain Mir on Wednesday reviewed the progress of the Digital India Land Records Modernization Programme (DILRMP) in Anantnag and called for timely completion of the digitisation process while ensuring accuracy and transparency.
Mir, who has recently been designated as District Mentor for DILRMP in Anantnag, chaired a review meeting at Khanabal attended by the Additional Collector Revenue, SDMs, Tehsildars, Naib Tehsildars, staff of digitisation centres and other revenue officials.
During the meeting, officials informed him that Jamabandis of all 394 revenue villages in the district have been digitised and that 100 per cent uploading of backlog mutations has been achieved. They further stated that 391 out of 394 cadastral maps (Massavies) have been digitised and forwarded for uploading on the designated portal.
The meeting was also informed that sub-parcelisation has been completed for 127 cadastral maps, while drone surveys under the SVAMITVA Scheme have been conducted in 372 revenue villages so far.
Addressing the officers, Mir said high-quality digitisation of land records would significantly benefit citizens by improving accessibility, transparency and efficiency in revenue-related services. He appreciated the progress achieved by the district and urged officials to complete the remaining work within stipulated timelines without compromising data accuracy.
He emphasised that the digitisation initiative is aimed at making land records more accessible and streamlining public services. Stressing the importance of meticulous data entry and verification, he directed officials to adopt proper procedures while capturing and compiling revenue records.
Describing digitisation of land records as a key governance reform, the Custodian General asked officers to continue their efforts to achieve all targets under the programme and ensure that correct and reliable information is maintained for future reference and public use.
Officials also raised several suggestions and implementation-related issues during the meeting. Mir assured them that their concerns and recommendations would be taken up with the competent authorities.
Concluding the review, he underscored the importance of transparency, accuracy and reliability in the digitisation process to strengthen public confidence and improve service delivery in the revenue sector.
