The meeting was attended by Congress Working President Raman Bhalla, former minister Mula Ram, former MP Choudhary Lal Singh, former MLC Ved Mahajan, co-incharge Iqbal Dar, Assembly Incharge Jammu East Sohit Sharma and other party leaders.

During the interaction, the delegation highlighted several long-pending demands, including the construction of a community hall, establishment of a library at the Social Welfare Centre in Christian Colony and extension of reservation benefits to economically weaker sections of the Christian community.

The members said these demands were important for the social, educational and economic upliftment of the community.

Karra gave a patient hearing to the delegation and assured them that the issues raised would be taken up with the concerned authorities by the Congress leadership. He also assured continued support for the welfare and rights of the Christian community.

The PCC President urged members of the community to actively participate in Congress programmes and organisational activities. The delegation thanked him for hearing their concerns and assuring necessary follow-up action.

Later, another delegation from the Muslim community of Ward No. 9 met Karra and highlighted issues affecting local residents.

The delegation raised concerns regarding the allotment of construction works, alleging that contracts were not being distributed on a fair basis and that genuine contractors were being overlooked.

Members of the delegation included Sumeer Salim, Mohammad Farooq Rao, Mohammad Anwar Khan, Mohammad Jameel Khan, Farakh Gulzar, Mohammad Shaukat Qureshi and Shahid Iqbal.

Responding to the issues raised, Karra assured the delegation that their concerns would be examined and taken up at the appropriate level. He also encouraged them to strengthen their participation in Congress meetings and public programmes.

The delegation expressed gratitude to the PCC President for giving them a patient hearing and assuring action on the issues projected during the meeting.

Both meetings were organised by Assembly Incharge Jammu East Sohit Sharma.
