SSP Anantnag reviews security arrangements for SANJY-2026 in Pahalgam sector

Anantnag: Senior Superintendent of Police Anantnag Amod Ashok Nagpure on Friday conducted a comprehensive review of security arrangements at key locations in the Pahalgam sector ahead of the forthcoming Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra (SANJY-2026).

During the visit, the SSP inspected the frisking point at Nunwan, Nunwan Base Camp and Sarbal Bridge, besides reviewing the ongoing repair and construction works of the Joint Police Control Room (JPCR).

He also assessed the installation and functioning of CCTV surveillance systems and reviewed overall security and pilgrim-facilitation arrangements at the identified locations.

Amod Ashok Nagpure directed officers to ensure robust security measures, effective access control, enhanced surveillance and seamless coordination among all agencies involved in Yatra management.

He stressed the need for timely completion of all ongoing works and called for maintaining a high level of preparedness to ensure the safety, security and convenience of pilgrims undertaking the annual pilgrimage.

The SSP reiterated the commitment of Anantnag Police towards ensuring a safe, secure and hassle-free Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra through proactive planning and comprehensive security arrangements.
