At Jammu, Sujit Kumar was accompanied by SSP Security Jammu and other officers of the Security Wing. A detailed inspection of the River Front Lodging and Registration Centre and Bhagwati Nagar Yatri Niwas was carried out during which officers briefed him about security arrangements, access control measures and preparations being undertaken for the Yatra.

At Chanderkote and Lamber, the IGP Security was accompanied by SSP Ramban, Staff Officer to IGP Security and officers of District Police Ramban. A comprehensive review of security arrangements was conducted and officers briefed him regarding preparedness, deployment plans and measures being adopted for the safety and convenience of pilgrims.

The review focused on establishing robust access control mechanisms, anti-sabotage check procedures, security cut-offs, perimeter security arrangements and identification of vulnerable spots.

Special emphasis was laid on regulation of pilgrim movement, crowd management, surveillance coverage, emergency response preparedness and optimum deployment of manpower and security equipment at all critical locations.

The IGP also reviewed arrangements related to frisking, baggage screening, vehicle checking, access regulation and round-the-clock monitoring of sensitive areas.

The IGP directed that regular security audits, vulnerability assessments and anti-sabotage checks be conducted to address emerging challenges and maintain a secure environment throughout the Yatra period.

Reiterating the commitment of the Security Wing, J&K Police, Sujit Kumar said all necessary measures are being undertaken in close coordination with district police, Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) and other stakeholder agencies to ensure the safe, secure and hassle-free conduct of Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra-2026.
