Leh/Jammu: Defence Secretary Rajesh Kumar Singh has visited the forward areas along the Indo-Pak and Sino-Indian borders in the Leh Sector and reviewed the operational preparedness, border infrastructure and logistical sustainability of troops in Ladakh.
During visits to forward areas in eastern Ladakh, including base camp and northern glacier, Singh interacted with troops and commended their unwavering dedication, courage and professionalism in safeguarding the nation’s security under the most challenging conditions.
“Defence Secretary Rajesh Kumar Singh visited Leh Sector from June 5-7, 2026, reviewing operational preparedness, border infrastructure and logistical sustainability with senior military commanders at HQ 14 Corps”, PRO Defence said on X.
As per the reports, he held detailed discussions with senior military commanders at the headquarters of the Fire and Fury Corps on the prevailing security situation and measures aimed at enhancing operational readiness.
During the visit of the secretary, Northern Army Commander Lieutenant General Pratik Sharma also visited the forward areas in the Ladakh sector on Saturday and reviewed the prevailing security situation and operational preparedness of troops.
During the visit, Sharma was briefed on the operational readiness, border management measures and ongoing capability enhancement initiatives aimed at strengthening the Army’s defensive posture in the region, the officials said.
The Army Commander took stock of the overall security environment and assessed the preparedness of formations operating in the challenging high-altitude terrain.
He also reviewed various measures being undertaken to enhance operational capabilities and maintain a high level of vigilance along the border.
