Srinagar: The Ishwar Ashram Trust on Sunday hosted delegates of the Global Kashmiri Pandit Heritage Tour and Conclave at its main ashram in Srinagar, in a cultural and spiritual initiative aimed at strengthening ties between the global Kashmiri Pandit diaspora and their ancestral heritage.
The programme began with a traditional pooja at the ashram’s main sanctuary, followed by an educational session led by Pran Nath Koul, who spoke about Kashmir’s rich philosophical traditions and spiritual legacy.
Delegates were later taken on a guided tour of the Ashram complex by Vijay Kumar Koul, who highlighted its historical evolution, architectural significance and role in preserving spiritual and cultural traditions.
The visiting delegation also toured the Ashram’s publication and book division, where they explored a collection of scriptures, historical works, rare manuscripts and philosophical literature reflecting Kashmir’s intellectual and spiritual heritage.
According to representatives of the Trust, participants appreciated the institution’s efforts in preserving and promoting Kashmiri heritage and described the experience as culturally enriching and spiritually inspiring.
The event concluded with an interactive session over traditional tea prasad, allowing delegates to engage with the Ashram’s administrators, scholars and members of the Trust.
The Ishwar Ashram Trust said it remains committed to preserving and promoting Kashmir’s spiritual, philosophical and cultural traditions through its educational programmes, publications and outreach initiatives, while connecting scholars, seekers and members of the diaspora with the region’s heritage.
