Jammu: More than 300 young people participated in “Jammu Yuva – By the Youth, For the Youth, Against Drugs”, a campaign organised at the Tawi Riverfront by FICCI FLO Jammu, Kashmir & Ladakh in collaboration with the District Administration Jammu and Jammu Smart City Limited.
The initiative was held in support of the Lieutenant Governor’s 100-Day Nasha Mukt Abhiyan and aimed at encouraging youth to become ambassadors of a drug-free society through awareness, engagement and collective action.
Deputy Commissioner Jammu, Rakesh Minhas, attended the event as chief guest, while Ansuya Jamwal was also present.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Minhas said the fight against drug abuse requires collective efforts from families, educational institutions, civil society and youth. He praised the organisers for creating a platform that promotes awareness, responsibility and positive social change.
A major highlight of the programme was the launch of the Jammu Yuva Anthem, unveiled by Dr. Minhas. The anthem seeks to inspire young people to join the movement against substance abuse and promote a culture of hope and responsibility.
Chairperson of FICCI FLO Jammu, Kashmir & Ladakh, Varsha Bansal, said the initiative was designed to engage and empower youth to make positive life choices and become agents of change in society.
The event featured awareness messages, cultural performances and community engagement activities focused on combating substance abuse and promoting a healthy lifestyle.
Among those present were former FICCI FLO JKL chairpersons Varuna Anand, Ruchika Gupta and Arti Choudhary.
The programme was organised under the leadership of Varsha Bansal along with Executive Committee members Sona Mehta, Tanisha Palan and Shipra Agarwal.
