SRINAGAR: The Directorate of Colleges, Higher Education Department, has published the Round-1 College/Major Allotment List for Undergraduate (UG) admissions for the academic session 2026–27 on the centralised admissions portal.

As per the admission schedule, allotted candidates are required to deposit the admission fee through the portal. They may either confirm their allotted seat by paying the full admission fee or opt for upgradation by paying an upgradation fee of ₹1,000 to be considered for a higher preference in the next round.

Candidates who confirm their allotment will be required to report to their allotted colleges for physical verification of original documents within the notified timeframe. Those opting only for upgradation are not required to visit their colleges at this stage.

The department has also announced that candidates who were not allotted seats in Round-1 will be given an opportunity to revise their preferences before Round-2. Unregistered aspirants will be allowed to participate in admissions against vacant seats during the Spot Round.

Revised schedules for fee payment, document verification, Round-2 admissions, the Spot Round and commencement of classes have been notified separately on the admissions portal.

The department has advised newly admitted students to attend induction programmes at their respective colleges to familiarise themselves with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 framework and the Four-Year Undergraduate Programme (FYUGP).

Students will also be briefed about academic flexibility under the new system, including options related to major-minor combinations, postgraduate studies in the minor discipline and direct PhD eligibility through the four-year Honours-with-Research track.

Director Colleges J&K, Dr. Sheikh Ajaz Bashir, urged allotted candidates to complete admission formalities within the prescribed deadlines to avoid cancellation of seats. He also advised candidates awaiting allotment and those yet to register to make use of the upcoming admission windows and regularly monitor the admissions portal for updates.
