Ashok Koul calls for drug-free, responsible society at “Asluk Aalaw” event in Budgam

Programme focuses on anti-drug awareness, social harmony and civic responsibility

Budgam: BJP General Secretary (Organisation) Ashok Koul on Tuesday called for collective efforts to build a drug-free and responsible society while addressing the third edition of “Asluk Aalaw” organised by Al Rahim Trust at Town Hall Budgam.

The programme, organised under the banner of Nasha Mukt Abhiyan, focused on themes including social harmony, Swadeshi awareness, civic duties, environmental conservation and family enlightenment.

Darakhshan Andrabi, Chairperson of the Jammu and Kashmir Waqf Board, was also present on the occasion along with religious and social personalities including Moulana Owais Qadri, Moulana Maharaj-ud-Din and Chairman of Asluk Aalaw Trust Nazir Gilkar.

Addressing the gathering, Ashok Koul described drug addiction as one of the biggest threats to society, particularly for the younger generation.

He urged youth to channelise their energy towards constructive activities such as sports, fitness, education and social service.

Koul said families, religious institutions and social organisations must work collectively to eradicate the menace of drugs from Jammu and Kashmir.

He also stressed the importance of social harmony, brotherhood and strengthening the local economy through the use of indigenous products.

Darakhshan Andrabi, while addressing the programme, said awareness and moral guidance are essential to protect society from social evils like drug abuse.

She appreciated the efforts of Al Rahim Trust for organising awareness programmes and stressed the role of religious and social leaders in guiding youth towards discipline and positive values.

She also highlighted the importance of environmental conservation for future generations.

Meanwhile, Moulana Owais Qadri spoke about civic duties and social responsibility, urging people to contribute towards community welfare and work collectively for peace and harmony.
