Srinagar: National Commission for Women will organise a Mahila Jan Sunwai in Srinagar on May 19 under its flagship outreach initiative “Rashtriya Mahila Aayog Aapke Dwar”.
The programme will be held at Banquet Hall Srinagar and is aimed at hearing grievances of women and ensuring their timely redressal.
Officials said the initiative is part of the nationwide Mahila Jan Sunwai programme designed to provide women a direct platform to raise issues related to their rights, welfare and safety.
The programme seeks to strengthen outreach mechanisms and facilitate direct interaction between women and the Commission so that grievances can be addressed effectively and in a time-bound manner.
It also aims to spread awareness among women regarding their legal rights and institutional support systems available for grievance redressal.
Under the “Rashtriya Mahila Aayog Aapke Dwar” initiative, the Commission is reaching out to women at the grassroots level to ensure their concerns are heard through coordinated institutional intervention.
Women from Srinagar district have been invited to attend the session at the Banquet Hall Conference Complex on May 19 at 9:30 am and directly interact with the Chairperson of the Women Commission regarding issues concerning their welfare, safety and rights.
