Jammu: The Jammu and Kashmir government is exploring the adoption of a Multi-Channel Messaging API solution to improve delivery of public services, with a focus on accessibility, efficiency, and real-time communication.

The proposal was discussed at a meeting chaired by Secretary, Information Technology Dr. Piyush Singla, attended by senior officials of the department, including representatives from Jammu and Kashmir e-Governance Agency, State e-Mission Team (SeMT), and empanelled system integrators under the National e-Governance Division of the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology.

Officials discussed the use of a conversational, multi-channel communication platform to streamline citizen interaction with government services. Demonstrations and proof-of-concept presentations highlighted potential applications such as grievance redressal, service notifications, application tracking, dissemination of government schemes, and interactive support services.

Dr. Singla said the initiative aims to bring government services closer to citizens by leveraging widely used digital communication platforms, ensuring ease of access and improved user experience. He noted that such solutions could play a key role in strengthening inclusive governance, particularly in remote and underserved areas.

Participating agencies presented their technical capabilities for deploying secure and scalable systems in line with guidelines issued by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology.

Officials said the department is currently evaluating the proposals and demonstrations and will finalise the implementation strategy in due course.

The initiative is part of the government’s broader push to strengthen technology-driven governance and deliver more efficient, citizen-centric services.
