  Deputy CM inspects Rs 7.42 crore bridge project at Meeran Sahib, stresses timely completion

Jammu: Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Choudhary on Monday inspected the ongoing construction work on a Rs 7.42 crore bridge project being executed on the Satwari–R S Pura road at Meeran Sahib.

During the visit, the Deputy Chief Minister reviewed the pace and quality of work on the bridge project and stressed the need for its timely completion while maintaining the prescribed quality standards.

He said the bridge has historical importance and would play a key role in ensuring seamless connectivity and improved accessibility for the people of the area.

Interacting with engineers and officials on the site, Choudhary sought details regarding the construction methods being adopted, the quality of materials being used and the overall progress achieved so far.

“We will closely monitor the project and conduct periodic inspections to ensure that the work is carried out as per the prescribed standards,” the Deputy Chief Minister said.

He also reviewed the safety features being incorporated into the bridge, including the provision of a footpath for pedestrians aimed at preventing accidents and improving public convenience.

Among those accompanying the Deputy Chief Minister during the inspection were Chief Engineer, R&B, Rajesh Kumar Agastam, besides superintending and executive engineers and other senior officers.

Earlier, the Deputy Chief Minister visited Sukh Sagar Bhawan Ashram at village Sikandarpur in Bisnah and paid obeisance at the temple there.

He also interacted with the caretakers of the Ashram and reviewed the ongoing works, emphasizing their timely completion and quality execution.
