Jammu: Tribal Affairs Minister Javed Ahmad Rana on Sunday urged the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) to expedite all legal and procedural formalities for the early repatriation of the mortal remains of six accident victims from Kuwait.
Six men – five from Poonch and one from Rajouri – were killed in a road accident near Kuwait City on April 8.
Rana visited Bachaianwali village in Surankote area of Poonch on Sunday and expressed condolences to the bereaved families.
The minister assured that every possible effort would be made to provide immediate relief and extend all necessary assistance to the affected families.
He asserted that the government is committed to supporting them during this toughest period.
Rana also urged the MEA to expedite all necessary legal and procedural formalities to ensure the early repatriation of the mortal remains of the accident victims.
The minister told the families that he would take up the matter with the concerned authorities to ensure swift action in this regard.
