Awantipora, Apr 10: A high-level delegation led by Harvinder Singh on Thursday visited the Centre for Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development (CIED-IUST Foundation) at the Innovation Campus of Islamic University of Science and Technology.
The delegation was received by Parvez A. Mir, who briefed the visitors about the initiatives, achievements and ongoing programmes of the Foundation aimed at promoting innovation and entrepreneurship among students and young professionals.
Prof. Mir also delivered a detailed presentation on the operational framework, major programmes and impact of the CIED-IUST Foundation.
During the visit, Harvinder Singh and members of the Mission YUVA delegation, including Muqbil Burhan, interacted with A. H. Moon and coordinators of various verticals.
The delegation also toured several innovation and technology laboratories established under the Foundation, including the iFactory Lab, DST Design and Development Lab, Fab Lab and UltraTech Cement Lab.
Officials briefed the delegation about the role of these facilities in supporting research, prototyping and startup incubation. The team was also informed about skilling initiatives being undertaken through the Kalam Academy of Skill Development and Training.
The visit highlighted the need for stronger collaboration between institutions and the promotion of innovation-driven education to boost sustainable development and employment generation in Jammu and Kashmir.
The delegation appreciated the efforts of the CIED-IUST Foundation in building an ecosystem that supports entrepreneurial talent and strengthens industry-academia partnerships.
Harvinder Singh reaffirmed the commitment of Mission YUVA to support initiatives aimed at empowering youth through skill development, innovation and entrepreneurship, in line with the broader goal of economic growth and self-reliance in Jammu and Kashmir.
