Around 100 candidates in the 18 to 27 age group participated in the inaugural session.

According to the organisers, shortlisted candidates will undergo a free 45-day training programme focusing on hospitality skills, communication, personality development and professional preparedness.

After completion of the training, participants will be assisted in securing placements in reputed hotels in Jammu and Kashmir and other parts of the country.

Addressing the participants, Devyani Rana said that young people need to align their aspirations with the changing requirements of the job market.

She said the hospitality sector offers promising career opportunities and urged the participants to take advantage of such programmes to improve their skills.

“Success today depends on one’s willingness to learn and evolve. Our youth must make use of these opportunities to develop their abilities and confidently enter professional spaces,” she said.

Rana said she wanted the youth of Nagrota and Jammu and Kashmir to emerge as skilled professionals capable of building successful careers both within and outside the Union Territory.

She also stressed the need for sustained initiatives that connect education with employability.

The MLA appreciated the role of ARC Hospitality in creating a platform for skill development and employment, and also acknowledged the support of Relief and Rehabilitation Commissioner (Migrant), Dr. Arvind Karwani, and local community leaders.

Chief Executive Officer of ARC Hospitality, Chitwan Khorana, also addressed the gathering and said the organisation was working to bridge the skill gap in the hospitality sector.

She said there is an increasing demand for trained professionals in the industry and that the programme aims to prepare young people for long-term and stable careers.

The event concluded with an interactive session during which industry experts informed participants about career opportunities, workplace expectations and the importance of discipline and professionalism in the hospitality sector.
