During the interaction, the Lieutenant Governor appreciated the Army’s efforts in empowering youth from far-flung regions and said such initiatives play a vital role in nurturing young minds and strengthening the spirit of unity.

The visiting group, comprising 33 students along with teachers and Army personnel, shared their experiences and learnings from the tour.

Officials said the initiative is designed to provide exposure to students from border villages, helping them understand the country’s cultural, social and institutional landscape while building confidence and a sense of belonging.

The itinerary of the tour included visits to Poonch, Rajouri, Jammu and Srinagar, offering the students exposure to diverse environments and institutions.

The students also experienced several firsts, including rail travel to Srinagar, visits to urban centres such as shopping complexes, and exposure to the Air Force Station in Jammu, as well as insights into the Army’s way of life, significantly broadening their outlook.
