Dy CM, ministers extend Navratri greetings, emphasise unity and harmony

Srinagar/Jammu: Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Choudhary and several ministers on Wednesday extended warm greetings to the people of Jammu and Kashmir on the auspicious occasion of Navratri, highlighting the festival’s spiritual significance and calling for peace, unity and prosperity.

In his message, Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Choudhary said that Navratri symbolizes the triumph of truth over falsehood and good over evil. He noted that the festival inspires people to uphold righteousness and strengthen values of compassion, unity and devotion. He prayed for the well-being, happiness and prosperity of all, expressing hope that the occasion would bring peace, positivity and further strengthen bonds of harmony and brotherhood across the region.

Minister for Jal Shakti, Forest, Ecology, Environment and Tribal Affairs, Javed Ahmed Rana also extended his greetings, describing Chaitra Navratri as a sacred period of devotion, self-discipline and spiritual reflection, marking the beginning of the Hindu New Year. He said the festival signifies the victory of truth and virtue over evil forces and urged people to uphold harmony, compassion and unity while working collectively for societal progress.

Rana emphasized the need to preserve the region’s rich cultural and spiritual heritage while fostering mutual respect among all communities. He expressed hope that the festival would usher in renewed hope, positivity and peace in society.

Meanwhile, Minister for Agriculture Production, Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, Cooperative and Election Department, Javid Ahmad Dar conveyed his heartfelt greetings, describing Navratri as a celebration of Nari Shakti, symbolizing strength, resilience and the divine feminine energy of Maa Durga.

He highlighted the festival as a period of devotion, reflection and renewal of faith, inspiring people to seek blessings for courage, harmony and prosperity. Dar expressed hope that the occasion would reinforce unity, brotherhood and communal harmony, while promoting the enduring values of compassion and righteousness across Jammu and Kashmir.
