Hamid takes over in Bla, Bhat in Anantnag, Athar assumes charge in Budgam

Srinagar: Following recent administrative changes in Jammu and Kashmir, new Deputy Commissioners on Wednesday assumed charge in Baramulla, Anantnag and Budgam districts amid formal handover ceremonies attended by senior officers and civil society representatives.

In Baramulla, Syeed Fakhrudin Hamid assumed charge as Deputy Commissioner at the DC Office in the presence of senior district and sectoral officers. Officials and staff of the Deputy Commissioner’s office, along with members of civil society, extended a warm welcome to the officer.

Soon after taking charge, Hamid interacted with senior officers and outlined his vision of people-centric governance as the guiding principle of the administration. He stressed that the administration exists to serve the people and must remain accessible, responsive and accountable at all times. He also directed officers to adopt a proactive and solution-oriented approach in handling public issues so that administrative efficiency translates into visible improvements in citizens’ lives.

Meanwhile, in Anantnag, Dr. Bilal Mohiud Din Bhat assumed charge as Deputy Commissioner, succeeding S.F. Hamid, during a formal handover ceremony held at the DC Office. The event was attended by senior officers including ADCs, CEO PDA, GM DIC, ACR, SDMs, ACD, Dy DEO, CPO, CAO, Dy Director Fisheries and tehsildars, among others.

Dr. Bhat was accorded a warm welcome by officers, officials, delegations and social activists, and he expressed gratitude for their support. After assuming office, he inspected various sections of the establishment, took a preliminary review of functioning and interacted with several applicants, issuing necessary instructions to concerned authorities regarding their grievances.

In Budgam, IAS officer Athar Aamir Khan took over as Deputy Commissioner during a formal ceremony in the office chamber of the DC Budgam, succeeding Dr. Bilal Mohi-ud-din Bhat. The charge-handover ceremony was attended by ADC Budgam Mehraj-ud-din Shah, Joint Director Planning, ACR Budgam, all SDMs, DIO Budgam, tehsildars and other senior officers.

Khan was accorded a warm welcome by officers and officials present on the occasion and expressed gratitude to the administration for the reception.

Officials said the newly posted Deputy Commissioners are expected to focus on efficient governance, public service delivery and addressing citizen concerns in their respective districts.
