DC Bla reviews implementation of PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana

BARAMULLA: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Baramulla, Minga Sherpa, today chaired a meeting to review the implementation of the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana here at the Meeting Hall of the DC Office Complex.

At the outset, the DC conducted a comprehensive division-wise and bank-wise review of the scheme’s progress, examining targets achieved, the number of applications received, approvals granted, and rooftop solar installations completed across all electric divisions of Baramulla district.

The DC held detailed deliberations on the progress of rooftop solar installations being carried out under the flagship scheme aimed at promoting clean energy and reducing electricity expenses for households.

On the occasion, the DC directed all the concerned electric division heads to significantly improve their performance and ensure proactive field-level work to bring more households under the coverage of this scheme.

Meanwhile, the DC directed all departments to focus on converting registrations into actual connections on the ground by fast-tracking the necessary formalities in a time-bound manner.

Additionally, the DC urged banks to expedite loan processing and disbursement to facilitate the timely installation of rooftop solar systems and accelerate the scheme’s implementation.

The meeting was attended by Chiethe f Planning Officer, Executive Engineers of KPDCL, Lead District Manager and other concerned officers involved with the implementation of the scheme.
