GANDERBAL: To ensure accuracy and transparency in land records, the Commissioner, Survey and Land Records (CSLR), J&K, Inder Jeet, today chaired a meeting of Revenue Officers of District Ganderbal here to check the status of verification of digitised Jamabandies as well as redressal of public grievances.
At the outset, the Assistant Commissioner of Revenue briefed the meeting about the status of verification and the challenges faced on the ground for achieving the purification of records.
CSLR underscored the need for coordinated efforts to ensure error-free verification and timely redressal of public grievances, reiterating that the ultimate goal is safeguarding the rights of the people through transparent and accurate land records.
He instructed officers to expedite disposal of backlog mutations, conduct thorough checking of records, and address grievances on the spot wherever feasible.
Directions were also issued to strengthen grievance collection mechanisms and resolve errors in revenue entries.
The officers were directed to maintain quality checks at every stage and ensure that the digitized record truly reflects the original revenue record.
Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Sub Divisional Magistrate Kangan, all Tehsildars and Naib Tehsildars attended the meeting.
Earlier, the Commissioner visited Estate Arch, Tehsil Ganderbal, for physical verification of digitized Jamabandis in the presence of the general public and landowners.
During the visit, a detailed review of digitized Jamabandis was conducted and compared with the physical records. The exercise aimed at identifying discrepancies, rectifying errors and strengthening the grievance redressal mechanism.
Public interaction was also held, wherein landowners raised various issues regarding entries, transliteration of names and other record-related concerns.
It was informed that the tallying of digitised Jamabandis with physical records is underway and errors, wherever detected, are being rectified. Stress was laid on ensuring 100 percent parity between digitised and physical Jamabandis to eliminate inconsistencies.
