During the camp, several dedicated counters were set up by the Health Department and Common Service Centre (CSC) teams to facilitate on-the-spot registration and provide detailed information about the schemes, ensuring hassle-free enrolment of all eligible beneficiaries.

Addressing the gathering, the Deputy Commissioner highlighted the benefits of the Ayushman Vay Vandana card and urged senior citizens to avail of the scheme’s maximum benefits.

He said the scheme provides comprehensive healthcare security to citizens aged 70 years and above, ensuring financial protection against medical expenses.

The DC stated that the objective of such public awareness camps is to ensure that the benefits of the scheme reach every eligible beneficiary so that they can avail assistance in times of medical need.

While lauding the District Health machinery, District Treasuries, CSC teams and field functionaries for successfully organising the camp, the DC emphasised the need for wider outreach. He directed that similar Awareness-cum-Spot Registration Camps be organised in all Medical Zones and Blocks of the district to expand the ambit and coverage of the scheme.

He also urged participants to spread awareness about the benefits of the Vay Vandana Scheme so that every eligible individual is enrolled and can utilise the Vay Vandana card during emergencies.

During the camp, the DC also handed over Ayushman Vay Vandana cards to the senior citizens of the district.

The eligible residents of District Srinagar who wish to register under the Ayushman Vay Vandana Scheme may contact 8825048995, 9596900893 or 7006283138 to complete their registration and avail the benefits of the scheme.
