Body of youth found near graveyard in Pampore

Pulwama: The body of a youth was found under mysterious circumstances behind a graveyard in Namblabal area of Pampore in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Saturday, triggering concern among locals.

Officials said the deceased has been identified as Hazik Sajad, son of Sajad Ahmad Mehboobi, an inhabitant of Namblabal, Pampore. His body was spotted behind the graveyard, following which information was passed to the police.

Soon after receiving the information, a police team reached the spot and took cognizance of the matter. The body was taken into custody for medico-legal formalities to ascertain the exact cause of death.

Police officials said an investigation has been initiated and all possible angles are being examined. Further details are awaited as the probe progresses. (KNT)
