Srinagar: Renowned physician of North Kashmir, Dr Haji Atiqullah, passed away in Srinagar on Tuesday after a brief illness.
He was widely respected for his decades-long service to the people of Sopore and adjoining areas, and was regarded as one of the most trusted medical practitioners in the region.
Dr Atiqullah is survived by his family, including his son, leading Kashmiri medical oncologist Dr Shad Salim Akhtar.
According to family sources, the Nimaz-e-Janazah will be offered at Shah Anwar Colony, Hyderpora, Srinagar, before Asr prayers, and later again after Magrib prayers at Sopore Eidgah. He will be laid to rest at his ancestral graveyard.
Condolences will be received at Shah Anwar Colony, Hyderpora, Srinagar, while Fateh Khawani will be held at Sopore on Saturday.
