The programme was organised under the leadership of Prof. Parvez A. Mir, Chief Executive Officer, CIED–IUST Foundation, as part of the Foundation’s ongoing efforts to promote entrepreneurship and self-employment among youth.

Dr Darkshan Majid, Coordinator, SCDC, delivered a comprehensive session outlining the role and functioning of the CIED–IUST Foundation and the various schemes offered by the centre. She apprised the participants of different MSME funding opportunities, government support schemes, and the mentoring and incubation facilities available through CIED. Interacting with the students, Dr Majid encouraged them to explore innovative ideas and highlighted the growing scope of skill-based and paramedical courses in healthcare entrepreneurship.

Farooq Ahmad Dar, Senior Technical Assistant, Department of Food Technology, IUST, also addressed the gathering. He informed the participants about the range of short-term, skill-oriented programmes offered by CIED and stressed the importance of acquiring practical, industry-relevant skills. He further briefed the students about the modern infrastructure and facilities at CIED that can be leveraged by aspiring paramedical entrepreneurs for innovation, research and product development.

The programme focused on creating awareness about healthcare entrepreneurship as a viable career option for paramedical students, with an emphasis on fostering innovation, skill development and self-employment. The initiative was well received by the participants, who expressed keen interest in exploring entrepreneurial pathways in the healthcare sector.
