Srinagar: As part of its sustained outreach under Project Sadbhavana, the Chinar Corps of the Indian Army organised Kashmiruk FUNKAR Season–III in Bandipora district, aiming to empower youth and promote socio-cultural harmony across the region.
The multi-faceted programme was held from December 3 to 20, 2025, at N.M. Government Boys Higher Secondary School, Kaloosa, and Sher-e-Kashmir Stadium, Bandipora, witnessing enthusiastic participation from students and local youth.
The event was structured around three key components—Sports Camps, Awareness Capsules, and Competitions—designed to ensure holistic engagement. The Sports Camps focused on improving physical fitness and self-confidence through activities such as self-defence training, kickboxing, pencak silat, mallakhamb, and ice stock.
The Awareness Capsules featured interactive sessions on critical social and educational themes, including anti-drug awareness, hygiene and sanitation, Know Your Army, artificial intelligence, and career counselling. Eminent guest speakers from diverse fields interacted with participants, motivating them to explore constructive pathways in education, sports, and professional development.
The competitions segment provided a platform for young participants to showcase their creative and cultural talents through painting, singing, dancing, kangdi making, and performances using traditional musical instruments. These activities played a significant role in preserving and promoting Kashmir’s rich artistic and cultural heritage by encouraging youth to reconnect with traditional art forms.
In addition, special interactive zones were set up to offer hands-on exposure in areas such as physical fitness, self-defence techniques, technological awareness, and traditional crafts. The vibrant participation throughout the programme highlighted the enthusiasm of the students and underscored the region’s untapped potential.
While continuing its primary role of safeguarding the nation’s borders and maintaining peace in the Kashmir Valley, the Chinar Corps reaffirmed its commitment to educational empowerment, cultural preservation, and skill development, aimed at fostering positivity and inspiring youth to actively contribute to nation-building.
