At the outset, MD KPDCL presented detailed updates on the achievements recorded in the past month, including progress under RDSS and PM-SGMBY, loss-reduction works, smart metering works, and the current status of loan applications being processed by J&K Bank.

While reviewing the status of ongoing works, Divisional Commissioner directed all executing agencies to furnish feeder-wise progress reports and complete the assigned number of feeders in each district by January 31, 2026. He further instructed NTPC officials to submit daily updates on installation works to the concerned Deputy Commissioners to ensure continuous monitoring at the district level.

To ensure saturation of PM-SGMBY, the Divisional Commissioner urged J&K Bank and other partnering banks to adhere strictly to the MoU-mandated checklist for sanctioning applications. He directed them to clear all pending cases within five days.

He also instructed the ADC Srinagar to resolve the Right-of-Way (RoW) issues on Ali Jan Road in coordination with the PHE Department for the smooth execution of works.

Emphasising uninterrupted power supply during the winter season, Garg directed all Deputy Commissioners to replenish buffer stocks of Distribution Transformers (DTs) by adding additional units and ensuring repair of damaged transformers at the earliest.

Meanwhile, the Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Anshul Garg convened a review meeting to assess the progress of Mission Yuva across the Kashmir Division.

The meeting was attended by Deputy Commissioners, the MD Mission Yuva J&K, representatives of J&K Bank, and other concerned officers.

At the beginning, the Director Mission Yuva presented a detailed briefing on the initiative’s objectives. He explained that Mission Yuva aims to transform J&K into a vibrant centre for entrepreneurship and sustainable employment.

The presentation covered major components of the mission, including mass employment generation through enterprise creation, development of a broad business support ecosystem, strengthening existing enterprises to enhance SGDP, and building a dynamic startup and innovation culture.

He also highlighted the 4Cs framework, including Culture, Capital, Capacity, and Connectivity, the ongoing grassroots awareness campaign, and the features of the Mission Yuva App and Portal.

During the review, the Divisional Commissioner directed officials to revise the motivator selection process at the district level to ensure that only capable and committed individuals are chosen. He also urged Deputy Commissioners to follow up with banks for timely disposal of SBDUS applications approved by the DLICs.

Emphasising the need to reduce pendency, he called for proper handholding of applicants so that bottlenecks can be addressed and implementation can move forward smoothly.
