Srinagar: Under the guidance of the Commandant of 10th Battalion Sashastra Seema Bal, a Medical Civic Action Camp was organised on Wednesday at Islamia College of Science and Commerce, Downtown Srinagar, in collaboration with Saving The Future (STF).
The camp was aimed at providing essential medical services to the local needy population, besides extending healthcare facilities to the college staff and students. A wide range of services were offered, including general health check-ups, medical consultations, free distribution of medicines, and health awareness programmes.
Two medical specialists—Dr. Dhiraj Kumar, Assistant Commandant (Medical Officer) with the SSB, and Dr. Syed Arif Kashani from We Care Super Speciality Hospital—attended to more than 114 beneficiaries, ensuring comprehensive medical care for all patients.
The camp witnessed a large turnout of local residents and college students, reflecting the community’s trust and appreciation for such welfare initiatives.
The Commandant of the 10th Battalion reaffirmed his commitment to continue similar outreach programmes in the future for the well-being of the people in the region. He also expressed gratitude to Prof. (Dr.) Tehmina Yousuf, Principal of the college, for providing the venue for the successful event. Appreciation was also extended to Advocate Syed Junaid Sadaat, Chairman of STF NGO, college coordinator Dr. Suhail, and NSS volunteers for their valuable contribution in the smooth conduct of the medical camp.
