Srinagar: After Rajya Sabha fiasco, the ruling National Conference (NC) has come out with another formula to save its partnership with Congress, offering the party to contest from Nagrota, solely and ensuring full support.
Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Friday said that the National Conference (NC) has asked the Congress to field its candidate from the Nagrota Assembly constituency and assured that his party will extend full support to the Congress nominee.
He said that while NC is contesting from Budgam, the party has asked Congress to field their candidate from Nagrota.
“The Congress leaders told us they would discuss it with the party high command. If they field a candidate, National Conference will fully support them,” Omar told reporters in South Kashmir today.
The Chief Minister also stated that his government still has four years of its term left and that its performance should be judged at the end of the full tenure, not prematurely.
