Comm Secy YSS reviews progress on Capex and SASCI projects

JAMMU: Commissioner Secretary, Youth Services & Sports (YSS), Yasha Mudgal, today chaired a meeting to assess the progress of Capex and SASCI projects of the Directorate of Youth Services & Sports.

The meeting was attended by the Director General YSS, Special Secretary, YSS, Director Finance YSS, Deputy Director Planning of the Office of Directorate of YSS, AD Planning YSS, Accounts Officer of the office of DG, YSS, Executive Engineers and other concerned officers.

During the meeting, the Commissioner Secretary emphasized on timely completion of SASCI projects and Capex initiatives to strengthen sports infrastructure for the students and youth of Jammu and Kashmir. She also directed the officers to set a target of achieving 80% physical and financial progress by December 2025 and 100% expenditure of all projects by 31st March 2026.

The Commissioner Secretary emphasised on regular weekly monitoring of all projects at the District, Divisional and Directorate levels.

She instructed the DG YSS to submit details of completed works pending closure due to liabilities, along with completion certificates, so that the Finance Department may release pending funds and the assets can be formally handed over for utilization.

The Commissioner Secretary further directed DG YSS to prepare district-wise physical and financial progress reports of both ongoing and new works, besides pending land issues, change of nomenclature, or related matters, be resolved on an urgent basis.

The Executive Engineer was directed to submit DPRs of pending works within one week and obtain technical sanctions of all pending works within 10 days.

The Commissioner Secretary reaffirmed the Government’s commitment to developing sports infrastructure, consolidating assets, nurturing young students and athletes, and ensuring the timely execution of projects across Jammu & Kashmir.

During the meeting, DG YSS presented a detailed PowerPoint presentation on ongoing, new works under Capex 2025 and SASCI projects.
