Bhalla was accompanied by Chief Spokesperson Ravinder Sharma, former minister Yogesh Sawhney, Kanta Bhan, and Vijyant Pathania. The team visited Bhenagarh, Miran Sahib, and various localities of Jammu city to share the sorrow of bereaved families who have lost their loved ones in the tragedy, while several remain missing.

Mangal Dass of Bhenagarh, Miran Sahib, has lost eight members of his family, seven of whom are still missing. The Congress leaders expressed deep shock on behalf of the entire rank and file of the party and prayed for peace to the departed souls.

They assured the families that they would press the authorities to leave no stone unturned in tracing the missing persons and provided them with solace.

The leaders also told the affected families that the administration, along with a large number of social volunteers, is actively engaged in tracing the missing persons and assisting in the ongoing relief and rescue operations.

Bhalla further said that once the rescue operations are completed, a high-powered expert team should be constituted to recommend improvements in the conduct and management of the Yatra. He stressed that this would help prevent recurrence of such incidents in the future and ensure a smooth and hassle-free pilgrimage. He also emphasized the need for creating all necessary facilities for pilgrims in the years to come.
