Satish Sharma conducts extensive tour of Chhamb constituency

MAIRA MANDRIAN, (JAMMU): Minister for FCS&CA, Transport, Science and Technology, Satish Sharma today conducted an extensive tour of Chhamb constituency, during which he laid foundation stone of key infrastructure projects as well as inaugurated several public utility projects, reaffirming the Government’s commitment to the welfare of public. 

During the visit, the Minister laid the foundation stone for the construction of the Block Public Health Unit (BPHU), to be built at an estimated cost of Rs 45.00 lacs, in the premises of PHC Maira Mandrian. This Unit shall cater to the increasing health demands of not only Maira Mandrian but adjoining areas of district Reasi as well.

The Minister inaugurated the Community Hall built at an estimated cost of Rs 9.76 lacs, village Godhan of Kandi Panchayat. He also inaugurated GMS Payan, built under the District Capex Budget at an estimated cost of Rs 22.94 lacs.

The Minister on the occasion also made available open coolers for public use at Maira Mandrian Bus Stand, of Nardi Panchayat and Government Ayurvedic College, Akhnoor.

These installations are aimed at enhancing public amenities by providing access to clean drinking water for travellers, students and the general public.

As part of his outreach efforts, Satish Sharma also addressed large public gatherings at Panchayat Godhan, Payan and PHC Maira Mandrian, where he directly engaged with residents and listened to their concerns and suggestions.

During his visit, he also interacted with several public delegations and community representatives at Khuga Morh, Govt Ayurvedic College and Maira Mandrian Bus Stand. Key issues raised included improvements in local infrastructure, healthcare, education and water supply.

Satish Sharma issued immediate directions to departmental officials to take action on the issues raised, emphasizing the need for prompt and effective solutions, especially for matters requiring urgent attention.

He also paid obeisance at Gurudwara Nardi Balla, where he offered prayers for peace, unity and the prosperity of Jammu & Kashmir

The Minister was accompanied by district and sectoral officers from various government departments.
